Friends of Vickerstown is a group of parents, carers, relatives and staff. Our aim is to enhance the time children have at Vickerstown School by helping to fund school resources and experiences for the children that may otherwise be outside of the school budget.

We are a small charity and we fundraise by holding events such as the Christmas Fayre and non uniform days.  We enter a team into the Coniston to Barrow walk each year.  This year we also had a Valentine disco and we helped school at their Autumn Fest.

In recent years we have funded library books, gardening resources and made donations towards the use of the minibus.  Each year we give all the children an Easter treat and pay for Y6 leaver celebrations.

Our big target over the last few years has been to make a donation to improve the playgrounds.  We are really happy that we have recently been able to confirm that we have £10,000 to donate for improvements to the KS2 adventure play area and we hope work will soon be undertaken.  We then intend to make a donation to improve the sensory room.

All of this is only possible due to the invaluable donations, support and help of parents and staff.   

As children leave, unfortunately we lose parents from the team. We always need team members, otherwise we struggle to maintain what we do or bring bigger ideas.  If you think you could help out in any way, please come and join the team.
